Tag Archive: report copyright infringement

A few days ago, I had written that I will order some copyright infringements from French Amazon to whip someone’s a$$. I have also ordered four doormats from Spanish Amazon and am looking very forward to checking the quality, leaving  reviews and most of all: report them for copyright infringement!

I will keep you updated.

I have had to fight so many copycats on Amazon marketplace all over the world, I cannot count them anymore. Filling out Amazon’s reporting form is so tedious *sigh* I have been made aware of a new way of reporting copies of your work: Order the infringing items from Amazon and after having them received, fill out the form with your order number as reference. Amazon does take customer satisfaction rather serious. It seems that in all cases (you still have to provide proof that you are the owner of the art/photo) you will get your money back. Plus can keep the item to use it, donate it, burn it, whatever… You can use the unrightful copies to take photos of the poor quality, rate it negatively or make comparison videos with your product. Endless possibilities…

I have ordered three doormats from French Amazon since there have not been ANY copies on German Amazon. Wow, almost a pity… They are still on their way over to little me – all the way from China. I cannot await receiving them!

I will keep you updated on this, I promise 🙂

So here I am, still looking for alternative methods to kick copyright infringers in their butts. Today I learned that you can actually report copyright infringements to Google to remove the infringing page from their search result page. Mhh, might be interesting to try, don’t you think?

To test it, I have just reported a blog that has been stealing one of my Santa Monica Pier artwork pieces with a unique effect. So you cannot argue that it is not mine. I had already opened a case through Copytrack and will just see how this goes through with Google. I consider it sending some extra love to an infringing website.

I stumbled across this great manual on how to fill out Google’s form, you might want to check yourself:

->  Report Copyright Infringement to Google Web Search | PCsteps.com

Very handy although 2 years old. Things rarely keep up-to-date online but this one is still very helpful.

The next step – after my test is all set and done and I can see the results – is to maybe report Amazons marketplace links through this feature. I am really fed up with reporting Chinese copycats through Amazon’s webform and am looking for new ways to hit both the infringers and Amazon. Removing product pages of Amazon on Google is a tiny step but maybe they will see a pattern. I don’t know… I am clinging to every tiny piece of hope.

Any ideas from you about this topic? I’d live to read your thoughts on this.

eBook: How to easily Report Your Stolen Zazzle Designs to Amazon.com by Christine aka stine1

Are you a designer on Zazzle, Society6, Cafepress, Design by Humans or any other print on demand shops and a victim of blatant (often Chinese) copycats who sell cheap items with your original designs on Amazon.com? Many of us are affected – if not most! It happens with our most popular designs and our least popular designs alike. Anyone can be their victim and Amazon does little to help us.
Society6 and Cafepress do nothing to help us either. As far as I know, Zazzle is the only print-on-demand website that really cares and tries to help their designers with more than useless watermarks. They have understood that these cheap (and I mean CHEAP in both quality and price) copies also hurt Zazzle’s reputation and earnings. We are not alone in this battle! Zazzle has even managed to make the process of reporting copied designs a bit easier for us, there is no need to repeatedly fill out Amazon.com’s online form over and over again.
I am writing this manual on how to find unwanted copies, how to easily report those copies and what else there is to do so that you can fight back. Be warned, it will be tedious and annoying – even with an easy process like this. You might even cry because it seems to be impossible to solve this but do remember: The worst is to not even try it!

Buy it on Smashwords in all kinds of formats (even PDF!) or directly on Amazon.com.

Unbelievable… after copycats still stealing our designs from Society6, Cafepress and Zazzle the next can of worms has just been opened! Are you a designer/artist on Design by Humans (DBH)? Then you should definitely check out these Society6 members and “their” designs since they have stolen images right off DBH!

I have just searched through one user (Isabeli) and clicked through over 80 pages of stolen and copied designs to find mine. And I have reported them to Society6, maybe you would like to do the same?

Here is the link to Society6’s contact page:

I have chosen “Intellectual property concerns” and here is the message I have sent to Society6 so that you can use it as an example hoping to make it easier for you, especially when you are not good in English:

Dear Society6 Team,

I have been notified of other artists that the artwork we have uploaded to designbyhumans.com (DBH) has been stolen and uploaded to Society6 to several accounts.
Please take a look at my DBH profile and then find all artwork uploaded by Society6 user “Isabeli” as direct links. I request that you remove his/her account immediately. I will also send this message to DBH.

I surely hope that Society6 will do something about this case of copyright infringement. DBH is informed and they say that they have also contacted Society6 on this topic and are waiting on a reply. I will try to keep you posted here, too!

Fight against Image Theft on Amazon! #stopimagetheft

Zazzle has started an online survey where you as a Zazzle seller can report counterfeit Amazon Marketplace listings with your stolen designs!

Please help Zazzle providing them the info they need. And please note, that submitting these links to fake products is NOT a substitute for reporting them on Amazon. Zazzle is currently collection information and hopefully plotting a plan to help and support us!

Here is the link to their form:
