Ah well, I am struggling to write a new blog post for days. I had several quick ideas but none really fit and as you will know: Not every idea can lead to a blog post that it worth reading.
Summer is in full swing and almost half of the year is already over, I have tried to analyse my print on demand sales for the first 6 months but since I am not a fan of numbers, I do trust my gut feeling. And my gut feeling is not not very happy about most pod websites. The naughty list in next December/January will probably grow.
I had started a few new additions like Curioos, Arthaus and Pictorem and by now there are zero sales so far. Other websites like VIDA that had earned me a nice and decent pocket money in the last 2 or 3 years have stopped earning… I had ONE sale on VIDA this year…. ONE!!!!! I had stopped creating new products for them around Easter.
Society6 is another website where I do not really know whether it is still worth the hassle. I have one tiny sale every few weeks with huge breaks between the sales. Is it still worth the work? Especially since they had started with their “shipping fees” which is a reduction of artist earnings – nothing else. Same goes for Redbubble, which has always been a slow and small earner for me.
Zazzle is still ok, TeePublic is slow as always but I had a few sales in June which came as a surprise. CafePress is still creeping slowly but steadily. Spreadshirt did surprise me recently with 3 sales after a long period of nothingness.
I really had high hopes with the new websites but have stopped feeding them until I do see a sale or two.
Are you happy with your art sales, or are you not selling your art / print on demand? I’d love to hear your opinion on this.
