Oh boy, 2023 seems to not get the best year for print on demand designers (or “artisans” as TeePublic calls us now – but that is just a side note). After Society6 and Redbubble both introducing a shipping fee to every sale we make, S6 now even goes one nasty step further:
Society6 introduces three “Artist Plans” that you have to choose before November 30. In case you do not choose, S6 will choose the free plan for you.
Reading the info is like a slap in the face, S6 uses words like “excited” and “improvements”. I am neither excited nor is this an improvement for me and most other artists.
Have a look at the official blog post (which cannot be found via their official blog, which is a joke itself) and the overview of the plans you can choose:

I myself have chosen the FREE plan. I can barely earn $12.99 in a quarter, why should I pay money? I have also less than 10 designs that have ever sold on S6, so the choice was easy to make.
Which plan will you choose or do you prefer to delete your Society6 store like many others did?

I left them awhile ago. My stuff didn’t sell there very much. I think they are going to lose some great artists because of this change.

Thanks for taking the time to comment and answer my question. I also believe that many good artists have left this year and will leave now. I just hope that my big earners like Zazzle do not come up with similar ideas…

Only 10 designs? Not that I’ve made much, but maybe time to consider alternatives.

Definitely, I do have tons of alternatives.
